Course Introduction
Welcome to the Cybersafe Cybersecurity Essentials course!
This awareness course produced by Cybersafe Foundation is free and available to the general public for the whole month of October in commemoration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023.
This course seeks to lay a solid foundation as it concerns imparting the essential Cybersecurity knowledge that fosters good online safety and hygiene.
At the end this course should be able to:
- Explain basic cyber security terminology; have skills for keeping up to date on cyber security issues; and be able to identify information assets.
- Describe basic authentication mechanisms; have skills to improve their password security; and be aware of alternative authentication methods.
- Identify cyber threats, understand social engineering, and be able to spot phishing attempts.
- Surf the Internet safely, and apply basic data protection and management strategies.
